[National Review] Europe's Anti-Lockdown Moment
Though polluted by the alt-right, gun-toters and conspiracists, America’s worship of civil liberties was on unsettling display over recent weeks as anti-lockdown protests swept from Lansing to San Diego and from Madison to Boston’s Beacon Hill. From London to Seine-Saint Denis and from Munich to Berlin’s Kreuzberg district, a similar defiance of state intrusion is now arising in parts of Europe. As the continent starts to emerge from the pandemic, could these protests better catalyze lockdown fatigue into a cogent case for reopening?
